Treating Loose Dentures….

Is your Denture or partial moving or rocking when you talk or eat? Or, perhaps your denture or partial is rubbing on your gum tissue causing you discomfort?  Overtime, dentures can become loose making food more difficult to eat and enjoy.   Dental technology has greatly improved the comfort and stability for patients who wear dentures by using dental implants.

Dental implants are strategically placed in the jaw bone and used as anchors for the denture.  The dental implants support the denture by allowing even pressure when the denture(s) is used in speech as well as eating and drinking.  Another bonus of having dental implants placed to anchor a denture is that it helps to retain the bone in the jaw.  If dental implants are not placed, over time the pressure from the denture wears away the bone in the jaw.  Unfortunately, if the bone is too thin in the jaw bone then the denture will not have anything to rest on.

My Riverside Dental Wellness office offers complementary implant consultations.  Our goal at this appointment is to evaluate the level of bone in the jaw and discuss ways to create a stable chewing system using dentures and denture implants.  Please contact my office located off of the 91-freeway and Magnolia in Riverside, California.
